The Event

It started just like any other day...

Calm but not quiet,

Silent yet speaking,

Meek yet anticipating-

Waiting for an event.

Expectation flowed

And then it came-

Flowing madly, endlessly,

Each drop hitting the ground-

Strenuously.

Never wanting to stop,

It rained like never before

And then...

Everything paused,

In an instant,

Without a reason;

Frozen into the sands of time,

Waiting till eternity...

For an event.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem essentially uses personification as the main tool.
Here is the story of a day- which represents people who always expect something important in their lives- so busy waiting for it that they don't even realize when that something important comes n goes... They never realize their worth.
