Shades of Life
She is a woman-
Plain-looking, simply dressed, unadorned-
In her self-effacing attire;
But she is a woman.
For she knows how to survive.
She is a flower-bearing bush,
In a dry desert of death-
Invincible, adaptable,
Enduring years of pain,
Bearing her misfortunes bravely.
Her virtues took her a long way;
Her world is an arcade,
Of hopes and stoicism.
Her vision did not last,
But her voice has gone far,
Hosting a popular radio show.
Her vision did not last,
But she can view,
Every color of people, for she realized long ago,
World can be seen without eyes too.
