Listen to the sound

of my wounded heart

Beating gently and softly

Humming a sad song

of sorrow and depression

of pain and agony

telling stories of long ago

of love and tragedies

and friends that never last

my heart is broken now

divided right in two

and defeated by the past

i have nothing to offer you

except my unconditional love

and a promise of eternity

always and forever...

i give you half of my heart

with all of my sincerity

the other half i will keep

holding on and holding back

until the time has finally come

for me to fall head over heels

for you to teach my how to really love

and the other half you will have won

or for you to find someone new

and for me to cry unyeilding tears

and that half you will steal from me

no matter how it ends

without hesitation or regret

i will close my eyes and love you blindly
