Forgiveness

In the middle of the night

When the world is fast asleep

Prayers tiptoe, to the heavens, they creep

The angels look down

A faithful in his prayers weeps

Not for the sins reeking from his soul

But for the forgiveness his Lord has foretold

His heart has woken from deep slumber

Ashamed for blessings, countless in number

A tear escapes from his eye

Causing a tsunami across the sky

God in HIS wisdom knows all

Yet to His angles He sends the call

Go and seek who this person is

Bless his heart with eternal bliss

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem is about spiritual awakening. It is a belief in islam that if you seek forgiveness with a true heart, ALLAH not only hears it but accepts it. Moreover HE despite all knowing loves to hear about His faithful from His Angels. He is delighted when they come and tell Him that so and so is praying for His forgiveness and Mercy. He loves it and commands them to take glad tidings to such people. May this poem be a beacon for the faithful. Amin
