There is something about this place
This little hall and the compound
That surrounds
There are echoes of its past
They say warplanes used to rest here
Times have changed
There are no more wars or planes
That need time out
The hall now echoes with laughter
Comes alive with
Nods and smiles
The villagers gather
For the farmers market
Arts and crafts, honey, jams and cheese
Pancakes, coffee, tea and curries
The atmosphere is affectionate
Everyone carries an aura
Like the mist from the hills
Reaches out, touches and engulfs in
The warm embrace of Friendliness
People laugh,
They talk the talk
Move from stall to stall
And for that moment
The time stops
And in that twinkling
The village captures my heart
BEAUTIFUL, HEARTFELT AND INSPIRING.
Dearest froemd: This is truly one of your most beautiful poems. It is heartfelt, flowing with rhythm and so inspiring. I loved reading it again and again. You have proved here that even though you are a doctor by profession but your heart, mind and soul are that of a genuine poet. Kudos!
