Poem-4
Something to remember if I recall that revealed love
I remember, nights muted all over the lanes in the city
I remember, that teenager Jarina at Kawran Bazar
I remember, those waiting hawkers and day labourers
I remember, Radhika at Tanbazar
I remember Nitai, Jagadish, Ismail and Vuban
I remember, what the dog taught me about love
I remember that vulture-
Waiting for the flesh of the dying child in a nibble
I remember, that late-night festival
I remember, plenty of wasted food and pungent smell of Vodka
I remember, the lover- so futile
Became blind in an illegitimate attachment.
Who knew it Jagadish, life moves like a dumb-
But everyone calls it peace! The peace!
