Translations (অনুবাদ) চারিদিকে কেমন যেন নিস্তব্ধতা !!
থমথমে পরিবেশ।
রাস্তাঘাটে মানুষের কোলাহল নেই,
যানবাহনের ভীড় নেই,
প্রকৃতিও কেমন যেন নির্বাক ??
বিকেলগুলোও বিষন্ন।
বাজারের চায়ের দোকান,
আর নাপিতের দোকান
সেগুলোও আজ বন্ধ।
আর রাস্তার পাশের
সেই সোডিয়াম লাইটগুলো
যেন প্রেতের মতো
দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে শুধু।
নিশাচরের চোখে ঘুম নেই
শোনা যায় শুধু,
ঝিঁঝিঁ পোকার ডাক।
রাতগুলোও যেন দীর্ঘশ্বাস ছাড়ে।
চারিদিকে যেন গ্রাস করেছে,
ভয়ংকর এক নৈঃশব্দ্য।

Deadly Silence

Deadly silence everywhere
Calm, quite all over
No loitering on road
No traffic gathering
And so silence is the nature
Evenings are gloomy.
Tea-stalls nearby the market
And the barber shop
All are numb-
And the sodium lamps
Beside the walkways
Standing straight, calm
Like the departed soul.
The night prowlers are sleepless
Only the whispers
Of the restless crickets, are heard.
The sigh of the night
Eclipsing all over
With a deadly silence.
