I have a secret that I keep to myself

It doesn’t hurt you or anyone else.

So why you keep asking me about it, I will never know,

Just let me be and leave me alone.



Stop your pleading and your asking

The secret is mine so stop my harassing.

Stop your screaming in person and on the phone,

Just let me be and leave me alone.



It’s not going to help, no matter how much you try

Your persistence is just making my head hurt and brain fry.

Just way out of proportion you have made this be blown,

Just let me be and leave me alone.



“How can you keep anything from me?”

Your thoughts and feeling on this you asked me to see.

“Its just mine, and mine alone” I say in a groan.

Just let me be and leave me alone.



“Fine, alone you want, alone you shall be.”

You storm out in anger, setting me free.

Still muttering, basking in the oats that I have sown,

Just let me be and leave me alone.



My privacy was the one thing I argued to get

But now I see, without my girl I will live in regret.

Consequences of my mistake I am now shown

I go to her, telling her everything that before only I have known,

Asking her, “Don’t let me be, please don’t leave me alone?”
