The wind is blowing

Yet the grass remains still.

Heartfelt words fill this time

Yet an undercurrent of disdain

Echoes throughout this world.

In an instant,

Trust is destroyed,

Love is betrayed.

A tiny glimmer of hope

Tinges the underbelly of our laughter.

Whispers of another time swell

As the breeze gently passes by.

A memory of past hopes and longings

Pushes through the darkness of the mind.

A civil tongue

A heavy heart

A spinning world

And a bowl full of truth.

Wishing, wishing

Upon that star

High above the nighttime sky.

Questions linger beneath the surface-

Where does it all come from,

And where does it all go?

Stretching out a helpful hand

Connecting two minds,

Two dreams,

Two hearts.
