Trying to Speak

Folder:
Secular Poetry

I'm trying to speak

But the words won't come.

Emotions inside me

Collide, then explode.

Frustration burns in my chest

Anger seeps from my pores

And yet,

Something new flares from my heart.

I'm trying to tell you

But you're not listening.

I am running,

Searching,

Trying to define that hidden emotion.

Listen to what's behind the words,

Beneath this clever facade.

I'm trying to show you

But you refuse to see.

Perhaps it is my heart that ails me;

Clouds of stress obscuring my vision,

Caught between lies and the truth

That fill my subconscious mind.

I'm trying to speak

But you're not there.

I think everyone can relate to this one. The words are very well spoken.
