At The Window

  I feel with assiduous touch

Pale garnished crystal of frost

Lest they melt into oblivion

I stare voraciously

At their feathery-pointed sparkles

So modest, secretly poised

yet unseen

On my lashes the same sparkle appears

languishingly and unseen

No assiduous touch, for no-one sees the sparkles

I wait....

My lashes heavy with fixed melt

Lower lightly and enduringly

Then, a golden ray shone brilliantly

On the feathers of frost

And awakened my lazy lashes

To fix in dutiful position:

Waiting for night to fall

Ugonna Wachuku's picture

Real, striking imagery and metaphoric
yearning pervade the rendition of this
piece...

It's description of a heart's humane
longing for fulfilment on this journey
called life, is perhaps, in its own
creative way, uplifting as:

"Then, a golden ray shone
brilliantly..."

An enlivening piece in all of its
radiant, yearning beauty!
