Clean White Pages

Folder:
2008

Once again I’ve found a friend in you

all carefree and warm in your embrace

Lazing with you in the sunlight

feeling it warm my back

and the wind riffling through my hair

and the sky abnormally blue

I don’t know if that was because of you

but I felt that I could sleep

I felt that I could dream

even if I stayed awake

feeling like I can’t find my fingers or my toes

but when I try

they’re still there right where I left them

and you and I my friend

We wrote together

you gave me the words

I held the pen

Me turning clean white pages

you pulling out subconscious thoughts

Show me there's still art

within me

waiting for a transformation

from these clean white pages

to the scribbled verses

that I don't recall writing

that I hardly recognize as mine

Author's Notes/Comments:

DRUGS- the cure to writer's block! i dont know what it is about drugs, but they seem to pull the subconcious thoughts right out of me and form them into poems i never thought to write.
