Distance

I sit here next to you

And I watch you smile,

But still we seem so far a part

And the distance grows by miles.

The warmth of your touch seems to fade

with the passing of the sands of time;

Your kind words and soft embrace

Are all but memories in my mind.

Day by day I begin let you go,

And say goodbye as my tears fall;

So one day soon it'll be

As if you weren't in my heart at all.

But that is something I don't want,

Something I never wished, no matter how small

For it leaves me feeling emty

Leaves me feeling void of any life at all.
