Seabird,are you lonely
When I hear you cry in the night?
Are you forced to live in the vastness
Forever crying your plight?
My soul would like to fly with you
soaring aloft in a storm
Over the restless ocean
Toward the coming dawn.
Do you pity this world of mankind
Scorning its mindless folly,
Keeping to the rocks of fastness
Where waves crash their ceaseless volley?
When you start your morning's searching
For food,at some river's mouth,
Do your wings love the feel of the wind
As the gales blow in from the south?
I lie here in the dark and I'm wondering....
Do you cry your love of freedom
Over the sleeping shores?
Have you alone kept your Eden?
Or,condemned to an endless vastness,
With wings weary of flight,
Seabird,are you lonely
When I hear you cry in the night?
LOVELY
I LIKED IT
I love poems that tackle nature esp. if it's perfectly weaved.
