Early in the morning

Get out a pair

Smooth out and stretch

Then with a foot align

Pull over my toes

And on to the foot

Carefully past the heel

Over the ankle go

Pull it up the leg

As high as it’ll go

And do the other one

Soon as I’m walking

Down they will slide

Stop and pull up again

Won’t go just as high

Lower they stop

Each and every time

All day repeating

Up and down the socks

Never where I want them

Never just quite right
