Forgiveness

In the garden of the heart, where shadows linger long,

Forgiveness blooms, a fragile yet resilient song.

It isn't just a pardon, a simple, fleeting grace,

Nor does it mean condoning all the wounds that we embrace.

Forgiveness is a lantern, glowing in the night,

Guiding us through darkness, towards a gentler light.

It's not about dismissing the hurt we've deeply felt,

But releasing heavy burdens, allowing ice to melt.

For in the act of pardoning, we free our soul's own chain,

No longer bound by anger, no longer held by pain.

It's not to say they're blameless, or right in what they've done,

But that we choose to rise above, to welcome a new dawn.

Forgiveness isn't weakness, nor a sign of defeat,

It's a powerful declaration that we choose to meet,

Our own heart's peace and healing, our journey moving on,

Leaving behind the shadows, embracing each new dawn.

To forgive is to reclaim, the power over our days,

To no longer let past sorrows, entangle in their maze.

We accept what has transpired, yet vow to rise anew,

Choosing our own happiness, a brighter, clearer view.

So let us lift the weight, let go of all the strife,

For in the act of forgiving, we reclaim our life.

It's not about the other, but the freedom we bestow,

Upon our own heart's journey, where love and light can grow.
