There is a Light that shines in through my darkness
It fills all my days with its shining brightness
It fills my nights with comfort and shows me a way
Tis' the Light of your love that guides me through
There is a Hope that touches me in my hopelessness
It fills my mind with its assurances and truthfulness
It fills heart with a newness of life that makes me live
Tis' the Hope that you send to me with your words
There is Peace that fills my spirit in its turmoil
It fills heart with its gentleness and its surety
It brings to me the serenity and calmness
Tis' the Peace that you send to me with love
There is a Strength that makes my body strong
It fills me with the willpower and ability to live
It's a strength that causes me to get through life
Tis' the Strength you lend to me from your heart
There is a Man that means the world to me
He fills me with his love and his caring words
He has a smile that brightens all my days
Tis' his love that make me live and smile
There is something moving and powerfully meaningful about this poem: "There is A Love", Sasha! The touching power of this poem haunts one long after the first and last lines are read because in it lies the reality of that human yearning in us. Indeed, what Sasha has honestly and bravely done in this poem: "There is A Love" is to let humanity into those realms of life where we confront and realize our longings and yearnings for love and strength in every sense of their essence. The metaphoric style of this poem captures the reader's mind till the end, and leaves one breathless. Hear Sasha: "There is a Light that shines in through my darkness It fill my days with shinning brightness... There is a Hope that touches me in my hoplessness It fills my mind with its assurances and truthfulness It fill my heart with a newness of life that makes me live..." This are powerful, hopefilled lines that draws us into the life-giving strength of words in every sense. Also, within the depths of this poem lies that simplicity and humility which depicts the heavenly. There is indeed a peace that passes all understanding if we can draw heaven's love into our human relationships. I see this reality in the following lines: "There is Peace that fills my spirit in its turmoil It fills my heart with its gentleness and its surety It vbrings me the serenity and calmness This is the peace that you send to me with love..." Sasha's rapturing poem: "There is A Love" clearly reminds me of one of my poems titled: WHEREVER YOU LEAD: The heavenly breath and luring nature of Sasha's poem is well evident to make one see the truth of being drawn into the saving arms of the sea walking Man of Galilee. There is a play of words in the poem which brings out a lot of Sasha's meaning and truthful yearning. Hear Sasha in the following disarmingly healing lines: "There is a Man that means the world to me He fills me with his love and his caring words He has a smile that brightens all my days Tis' his love that makes me live and smile" What a powerfully moving poem we you have woven here, Sasha. And heartily, I'll be so fulfilled if this poem draws humanity into the truth of living by Jesus' SERMON ON THE MOUNT(Matthew chapters 5-7). Thank you so much, Sasha, for letting us into this peace that passes all human understanding, this love that will outlive the monuments of time and stone. This is the life-giving power of knowing through your moving poem that "There is A Love". Ugonna Wachuku
