Paralyzed by impotence,
And dazzled by fear,
My tongue keeps its place
Where unspoken words
Rest in death,
And nobody will hear.
The spirits force me up
For fear of a shattered soul.
I see them come,
I hear them calling:
"Awake, arise! Or be forever fallen!"
Simple are these words spoken
Hardest is to feel the urge…
When the mind is lost,
The heart is broken,
The wandered soul cannot be caught.
Num-thousand times I have tried
To gather these burning shards of mine,
But in my darkness
Heaven resembles Hell.
And I'm paralyzed,
I'm dazzled.
Spirits behold my face
Signs of remorse and passion
And deep scars of thunder
Echoing through my skin,
Burrowing deep within my veins.
For fear of reaching my soul,
For fear of corrupting my heart,
The angels gave out one last shout
Before we forever part:
"Make your way to the realm of light,
Trudge your feet and hold the fight,
Heaven is not Hell nor evil is from within…"
All I gave them was an empty grin.
