UNFAIR PUNISHMENT

UNFAIR PUNISHMENT

At the top of his lungs he screamed in silence.

Its resonance filled the room with discouragement.

As the day turned into night and his will went unheard.

Three wishes went by longing a days of youth.

Two pleas to his mother, who tried her best.

And one prayer to an unforgiving judge.

As much luck a man can have.

To be at the wrong place and at the wrong time

He repeated to a jury whose ears chose what to hear.

The girl was more credible, she was more pleasant to be seen.

The judge nodded his head to every beat the girl sang.

And in this way, signing a contract of shadows and dark

For the young man, guilty to his eyes.

Represented danger from afar.

And at the top o his lungs, guilty was the young man charged

Locked and gone forever more.
