The ringing in my ears.
Cant you hear?
The pounding of my heart.
I'm breaking apart.
Sobs erupt from my chest.
So sudden, no one would have guessed.
Pull my hair out.
Scream and shout.
Feel the blood in my veins.
I think I'm going insane.
Cry out for someone, anyone.
And who shows up?..no one.
Shattered and stepped on.
My soul is forever gone.
Alone forever is what I fear.
Down my cheek slides a tear.
Wipe it off with the back of my hand.
Dust myself off, and slowly I stand.
Head held high I walk away.
This emptiness, it ends today.
Never look back, leave it behind.
I will never again be confined.
