He thought he was in one of his best conditions in his life. It was in summer vacation before college, a month before school. As usual he didn’t do anything amazing the wholes, normal late morning wake up, normal breakfast, normal videogames, normal workout in the gym, until that night when he notice that the basketball court had more friction than normal. He was remembering with his friend the last game they had with their former school team last Saturday where they beat the guys that were beating them last years, suddenly they began to warm up slowly, and there was no rush because they were a little early, soon enough they started to warm up properly before the game, it was suppose that this game, as all the games in this summer league, is going to be easy because it was a second league game and their former basketball team was easily more professional. The game started, it was a normal jump for the big guy easily winning the jump as he was in a great shape. At the first run he remembered that the court had more friction than normal, like his friend said, he thought it was of no matter. Both teams started slowly and calmly the game, with no rush the first quarter was finished. Normal game so far he said to his teammates, as they discussed some strategies and improvements to their game. Second quarter started, they opposite team has the ball, their point guard has the ball and tries to drill in dodging his teammates defense but, because he is much bigger than anybody in the game, he catches him in the air and furiously he blocks the shot. Now he feels more confident. A couple minutes later the game get a fast rhythm and gets more fun more him, quite a normal game so far. Halftime arrived, he was resting at the bench talking with his friend about Saturday’s game and how happy they were when they beat them. Third quarter starts. Normal plays all around the court when suddenly they lose the ball and the opposite team has a turnover, he is running just as the same speed as the opposite point guard when he remembers Saturday’s game, the same exact play, a turn over by the opposite team and he runs at the same speed beside the point guard with the ball and got a simple idea of how to steal it, he pretends that he is going to let the point guard pass before him when suddenly when his leg that is closer to the point guard is in the air he moves the next step towards the point running path to obstruct him and gets low to stretch his arm and push the ball away to his teammate. When he remembers this in a flash during the game he does the exact same move but this time something different happens, as soon as his leg touches the floor when trying to steal the ball the bone, blow the knee, gets out sharply in a flash. As an instant reaction of his body, his legs get weak and drops to the floor instantly. While he is in the air the bone that got out of its normal place, gets back as well as it got out with a sharp move. On the floor his head tells him to not move at all that leg even though it does not hurt, after a few seconds the pain starts to skyrocket to the point that it is the worst pain of his life. He have trained American football for a season and tae kwon do for 3 years but none of the hits he got there were close in pain to this accident. After a few minutes he got some protection to maintain his knee still. On the bench he almost throw up and pass out for the pain. At home, after the game, he wonders how this accident was possible if it was a normal game when he remembers that in that normal day with normal activities in a normal game, the court had more friction than normal.
