I loved you, how I loved you

When the summer sun was hot!

Your tan a bronzing mantle,

Your smile tied me in a knot.

Other people lived and loved

But we seemed to be the first -

Blazing heat of summer love

We knew how to quench our thirst

But now the season's changed, love

And the sun is cooling down.

We'll soon smile and say goodbye;

Let's not end it with a frown.



I'm a roving vagabond

And one season's time is long.

You have my love - I have yours

But now autumn sings its song.

We will walk along in rhyme -

It just won't be together.

I love your alert blue eyes

But can't abide a tether

So let's kiss and say goodbye

With softness in our manner.

I love you, but life changes.

New season 's like a banner.



I loved you, how I loved you

With your kisses warm and sweet.

We were like a summer storm

As we flooded in the heat.

Let us not be sorrowful,

For these things of life can't change.

I'm a roamer; walk with me

'Til I reach the edge of range.

Our goodbyes must not be sad

For we had our golden time.

Give me a smile then hug me;

Summer's season was sublime.
