Do not say it. Don't ask me.

I know I cannot do it.

I hate to refuse you

But if I dont I'll rue it.



To deny you anything

Is just more that I can bear,

But I cannot grant your wish-

Not now, no time and nowhere!



I'll wash your car- I'll shine it,

I'll take you to go shopping,

I will tidy up your house,

I'll even floor mopping.



I'll lay down my cape for you

To keep your pretty feet dry,

And now, I'll do as you wish

And sadly I'll say goodbye



But don't ask me to do this

Or my heart will surely rend.

Do not, do not say the words,

'Please, could you just be my friend?'
