Another Long Apple Tree Year

I waited all year for this moment

And what a long wait it was!

Through summer and fall-

Winter topped them all-

But finally spring, again it was

Yes finally spring it was.

I saw that the buds were well formed now

And what a great size they were

I was all ready

Almost unsteady

So glad to see the great size they were

Yes, seeing the size they were.

For they were about to open wide

To stud the tree with their blooms

It was to be great

It was long to wait

But they were about to open blooms

To stud the tree with their blooms.

And then, finally, one day they did!

That was the day the rain came!

I couldn't believe

I could only grieve

Rain poured and pounded when it came!

Three days that killer rain came!

Another long year to wait...

I love how you write the strangest poems :) .I mean that of coarce in a very good way. You always write poems about things I've never read poems about.
