The Cleveland Indians have gone longer without a World Series win

than any other team. The Indians were the first American League

team to hire a black player, Larry Doby, and the first major league

team to hire a black manager, Frank Robinson.

Yet Wahoo, a caricature of a Native American, was considered

insensitive and was opposed by Native Americans and many others.

Now that Wahoo is gone, the Native Americans can confer blessing

upon the team. Only 2 teams have a smaller payroll.

(And may the Indian management end the promotion of

hotdogs, cadavers in coffin buns, with all the animal agony

and disease in each one)
