An ancient statue of Buddha
in Thailand was entwined
with many jadegreen leafy
Buddha loving vines
His followers wanted
removed the vines
but Buddha's Atma says
.. more important than
any stone statue..
are living breathing vines
Author's Notes/Comments:
Poet Da Chen native of
China spoke of his mother's
cooking mooncakes for the August harvest..
the cooking timed by the ashes of an
incense stick. ..
A Buddhist parable
is that a monk leaves
his abode as easily
as swans leave a lake.
A 2nd parable
is that a criminal
reformed by the Buddha
is as the moon which
illumines the world, freed by a cloud.
Beautiful!
