was proud that

he was stable

.. upright disciplined

and able

.. but it was the

weak spineless tomato vine

who provided

all the food for the table

GREEN CROWN



The tomato was now ripe

.. and so unconcerned

about earthly things

she minded not that

her green crown was

removed as she

was plucked from

the vine
