She decided
she shall no longer
shill for Shell
nor for those squeezing
oil from shale
nor for those whose
sea drilling
is polluting the shoals
and shallows
But before she starts her
new life, she'll
travel to the Seychelles
and gather unoccupied seashells.
A cleverly structured shout
A cleverly structured shout out to a person of integrity (or it could be interpreted as Gaia Herself) who can no longer bear our reckless plundering and ravaging. The alliteration of "sh" was particularly meaningful because it is reminiscent of an ocean sound which connected me to the grandeur of our imperiled seas. Very effective.
