+ 5TH POEMS: Reassessment Of My Parents' Antagonistic Hostility To My Youthful Ambitions
In old age, I must take another
look at my lack of a superior academic degree
in ancient (that is, early Christian) History,
or Roman archaeology,
or even in observational astronomy:
parental opposition (wthout the least subtlety)
made each of these an impossibility.
But Christ our Lord, and His Blessed Mother
bestorwed a better calling on me:
this starward inclining poetry.
