When The Last Bolshevik Died---A Speculative Fiction

He did not think that objective history

would mock him as a comic travesty,

who could not function with human empathy,

not even a little, not even mediocrely.

He had lived his whole adult life for the Party:

which remained in him alone, like him old and farty.

(Could Lenin, himself, have envisioned it that way?)

Hw died in an obscure old folks' home, on an unremarkable day.
