This isn’t what we wanted but we can’t keep our filthy fuckin pasts clean
We pretend to be who we are in each other’s arms
Washing the sheets after each lie
And I cry
Leaving fresh mascara stains on the pillows
Then I lay wide awake
You fall fast sleep
And I think about everything
How I’m too timid and weak
You’re always strong and proud
How you trust in none and I trust in all
How you fight being loved and I always fall
How you were never worth it so you push me away
And how I was always 'heartless' so I refuse to stay
How we pretend to be who we want to be
Knowing who we are not
How this isn’t what we wanted
But we can’t keep our fifthly fucking futures clean
;-)

I love it. This captures
I love it. This captures trying to be a picture of what you think a relationship is supposed to be...not what one really is. Its a lot of the reason why people break up...always thinking it is supposed to be something more than what it is. If you don't like it it makes it a lot easier...just leave.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."
"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
