I want to date you

As clear as anything I have ever caked in fog

I now see the beckon of light against the water

I want to date you

And I know it will be messy

Ending with limbs severed everywhere and smashed bits of love against the rocks

You will be too sensitive and I will be too cold

We will collide like ice burgs sinking one another

Permanently changing the other’s structure

I know it will end

At some point in some way when you are sick of me always expecting more from you and I am sick of you never catching up to me

We will have troubles every where we turn

I won’t want to have sex

It will scare me

I won’t trust you

You will feel it’s your fault

Pity me

Make it all about you

And we will fight

About anything and everything

We will spend hours in silent anger wading around the other’s eyes refusing to drown

We will be empty and hollow and lifeless when we finally meet our destination

And I do not care

I want to date you

I want to get messy

I want to be severed

I want to throw myself into the sea and flail my arms at every life boat I pass

I want to cover my life in salt water tears and sunset cheeks

I want to date you

As clear as anything I have ever caked in fog

You are the light house calling me to shore

And for once I just want to make harbour
