They say that the captain goes down with the ship
And chivalry is dead
But “we’re sinking” is just a battle cry for the lost and weary
And the ones who make it to the life boats are not the luck ones
It’s the ones who sink in the waters depths
Who are pulled to the blacken swallows of hell
The ones who swim in the tides of loneliness
The currents of loss
They are the ones who are lucky
They are the ones who got out alive
And they are the ones who will welcome the shore
They won’t be stupid enough to leave when they find land
They’ll make harbour and build a home
I have two comments, one so
I have two comments, one so flippant and one so serious and morose that I can't decide, but I liked the poem. ;-)
