it’s about that time
I start unwinding
any hope I’ve wrapped around
the rock
sinking to the bottom of the ocean
it’s about that time
I shed some light
on the conversations trying to blossom
into sound
like
“I love you”
and
“it’s okay”
and
“just because it could have been doesn’t mean it has to ever mean a thing”
it’s about that time
I started being
fiercely me without reprise
or compromise
without lighthouse warnings of rocks
it’s about that time
I figure out why
I’m looking at an ocean
of possibility
and responding with ‘landlocked’
Wrapping hope around a rock
Wrapping hope around a rock and tossing it into the sea. Now that's something I'm good at. The trick is to try and make it skip a few times.
