I borrowed a pen

from Lisa

at the counter

and paper

from a student

behind me in line,

but I think that they

don’t know you

the way I know you,

because my words

seem less like feelings

and more like words,

which really doesn’t matter,

because that still doesn’t

account for why your words

feel more like feelings

and less like words…
