A week had passed, time slipped by,
Emptiness filled me, desolate inside,
You looked up at me and smiled once more,
Everything in the world was right and sure.
No more pain, no more sorrow,
I wept at the joy of knowing there’ll be a tomorrow.
Everything is going to be alright,
The tears and void will end tonight.
Laughter filled the air, everything a blur,
We lay on the floor as I stroked your fur,
I closed my eyes, the angels sang their song,
I open them now to smile at you, only to remember,
You’re gone.
