Love

‘You mean the world to me my love,

For you are every beat of my heart.

You mean more to me than the Heavens above,

You are my vision, a work of art.’

‘Please don’t make this any harder,

You know as well as I that our love has ended.

I can no longer speak to you with deepest ardor,

This is all the work of fate of which life intended.’

‘I love you more than life itself’,

‘All these are just spontaneous phrases’,

‘Give me a chance to prove oneself’,

‘Your feelings for me are teenage phases’.

‘This relationship is through,

You had no business to be untrue.

Was I really that bad to make you lie?

All this time you made me out to be the bad guy.

It sickens me to even see your face,

I think it’s time you are on your pace.

Don’t even think of lying to me no more,

I’ve packed your bags,

Now find the door.’

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this poem after seeing how many people were ending their relationships.
