PICTURE THIS

I'd like to paint myself

Into a clear blue oblivion

Where the earth meets the sky,

And everything's forever,

And everybody's free

To be who they want to be,

Regardless of their age,

Religion,race,or gender.

And  wish I could create a world

Where only outcasts are allowed,

And everyone else needs a special invitation

Or a ticket.

And,for once,we'd be on the inside looking out,

And they'd be outside looking in,

Staring at us through a hole in the wall,

Like we're some kind of art exhibit...

Much like they do now,

Except they'd be looking up,

Instead of looking down.

They'd be like,"Who's that girl

With the funny purple hair,

I wish I could be like her.

Maybe I should dye mine blue",

Or "I wonder how long it takes

To learn to walk

In 5-inch platform shoes?".

Yes,this would be a perfect place.

Too bad it's just a dream.

But picture this...a world that's beautiful,

And picture this...a world that's free.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Outcasts are people too.

It's been said that the outcasts are the "cornerstone"...nice treatment of this age old subject.
