I love these calm, suburb foothills,
The ones so filled with rocks and rills.
Their beauty and their wonder fills
My mind with memories and thrills.
The breeze that visits them each day
Can take your very breath away!
Their orange sunsets will make you say,
"Their sweetness is more than okay."
I talk to them now and again,
Reminding me of way back when
I made these foothills my own den;
Oh, those were sweeter times back then!
These foothills are still my dear friends,
For God, to me, these He did send.
They kept me straight when I would bend
And helped my sad spirit to mend.
Still these foothills do wait for me
As if for all eternity.
They're waiting ever patiently,
And soon one day with them I'll be.
