The Heavens Above are not Enough

The sun, the moon and the stars,

Even the majestic red Mars,

At night stare down and become blue,

Wondering whatever they can do,

to become half as beautiful as you.

Even springs most wonderful bloom,

Or winters snowy serene gloom,

Realized after they met you,

That they, like the heavens too,

Had been outdone by something new.

On your skin and below,

No matter how deep you go,

Your heart always shines through,

And I realize there is nothing I can do,

My heart and love, will always belong to you.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this for my sister after she received bad news about her health, to help cheer her up. It worked.
