Vulnerable

It's one of the hardest things to be.

It means being honest.

It means opening yourself, the inner self, the one that hides away.

It means letting go.

It means letting others in.

It's something that we struggle against being.

We're scared of being hurt.

We're scared of being judged.

We're scared of so many things.

And it's hard.

Because it means trust.

It means connecting.

I feel that those are things I don't find easy to do.

When you've been hurt so much, when you've tried and failed to make that spark, that intimacy, that openness, and it isn't reciprocated, it becomes frightening.

I shy away from it a lot.

That's why I write.

The pages of my notebooks don't judge me.

Once words are written, they aren't really yours anymore.

They become someone else's.

And everyone will interpret them differently from you.

So don't be afraid.

Write.

Create.

And be vulnerable.

  Love your remedy to self

Love your remedy to self introspection and the subject of trust. Yes poetry is quite a candid way and form of expressing our emotions and being honest with ourself, even if other people are too busy hiding themselves. As you say it's a shame a lot more people can't be  more open about theirselves, maybe we all should be poets!? Loved your creation here.

Not Yours Anymore?

Like wishes, uttered, let go and given to anyone who wants to use them, poems, words let go adrift to find meaning in the most unlikely spaces. Nice thots! - Just Bein' Lady A
