Dancing Fire

Well, we dance around each other a lot,

Wanting to be close but

Trying to avoid being burned.

I'm damaged goods,

You're defensive.

A combustible combination.

But it's time to let go a little,

Time to live a little more,

Because we can't keep shying away.

Not from this.

I'll give you inches if you take my miles,

And we can run away together,

Travel to all the places we want to go

But never had the courage to visit.

I want to ride the wild winds.

I want to breathe the clean air.

I want to feel salt and sun on my skin,

But most of all, I want to see you smile.

So let's both get burned a little.

Let the marks be our pride,

Our proof that we were willing to weather

A bit of pain in order to increase

Our own happiness.

I like the masochist style of love you portray here.  Trust me when I say it is very difficult to pull something off like this while written so well.
