Night fog rises
Upon silent gardens,
Mingled with the heady
Scent of rain
And magnolias.
Sweet laughter trickling
Past paths of roses,
Across the rushing river
That adds its' bubbling
Tinkling sound
To the silence of the trees.
Footprints on the
Moonlit walkways,
Water pooled there from
Your passing.
Sheltered there
Beneath your hair,
Fanning out behind you,
A streaming, billowing banner,
Standing in the shallow stream
Highlighted sofly, illuminated
By the moonlight,
Skin luminescent as
Droplets of water
Cascade down your form.
You beckon me closer
But when I reach you,
You disappear.
