The Perfect Lover

The perfect lover has

Passion unparalleled,

Writes poetry on a whim,

Religiously goes to the gym.

They've always got

A funny story to tell

But with a serious side too,

They're always there for you.

They love with the intensity of

A thousand burning suns

And they're always up for "fun"

But will never jump the gun.

It's a good thing that the perfect lover can't exist!

Because really, No one would be able to resist

Their easy smile.

They'd drive us all wild,

And all the while

We would be too mild.

Author's Notes/Comments:

No such thing as "perfect" ladies and gents, but we can dream.

That's right reila. How

That's right reila. How wise... if people only accepted each other as individuals and accepted life on earth in its duality, they would find they will develop the skill of seeing beauty even in some of the ugliest things. Is it easy??? Hell no...which explains why people shy away from the thought of it. God forbid we accept any thing about this world that is a human frailty. *sarcasm intended*

People need to practice more of what they preach, and stop all the fantasy about finding their "perfect soul mate". I believe there is someone out there for everyone when everyone gains this insight about their own flaws and frailties.

No one's love should ever be taken for granted.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Exactly.

You nailed what I was trying to say precisely. There is nothing true about perfection, because in and of itself it would be fake and therefore not perfect. People are simply that, People. It's all about getting to know people for who they truly are, instead of turning them into objects that one can hang all their hopes and dreams on.

Yes...I was just saying in

Yes...I was just saying in comment to one of allets' poems, that "perfect", perhaps undefineable in words...but not in experiencing.

..

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

A Perfect Man Once

I met a perfect man once

he was hanging from a tree

I asked him how he got there

and he said, "Follow me."

.

He died and they say he came

back all over the world. That's

a great story to tell children.

I'm still stuck on the "Follow me."

part.

.

Prefection has a bad rep

unrecognized when it appears

and makes you wonder

your life entire as you try

to follow and fail.
