Do you remember me?

Do I exist in your memories or am I forgotten?
Can you speak my name without a bitter taste?
Do you ever dream of a time once held close to your heart?
I was invisible before your eyes
my words fell silent upon your ears.
My spirit began to wane.
The distance grew between us as we stood side by side.
The warm embrace of summer had faded as winter's chill crept in.
Down into the spiral, I fell.
I placed a crown upon you, undeserved.
I gave to you power unwillingly.
My heart belonged to you only.
If only it was enough.
Why wasn't I enough?

Spinoza's picture

sometimes the jewels fall through

No matter how many jewels we put in the bag, sometimes, it is never enough.

As Frank Sinatra said, “That’s Life.”
