Your Amber Fire

Your amber fire,

Dances before my eyes.

Warming my soul,

Easing my fears,

Seducing me,

Enslaving me.

Like all the other long winter evenings,

We have spent,

We two,

Together,

Or in company.

But I know that tomorrow,

As always,

You’ll be gone.

I’ll be left alone,

Empty,

In your emptiness

And in wishing,

That I was dead.

You are an evil mistress,

To use me,

Then discard me,

As you will.

Whisky,

I’ll take my revenge,

One at a time,

Eradicated,

Erased,

Gone.

If I have to drink every last bottle myself!
