Mind Grazing

Catch the thought, firmly with both hands.

Wash it carefully,

Then when dry,

Polish it on your sleeve.

If it shines, keep it safe.

Later, take it out, if it still pleases you,

Wash it again in the clearer pools of your memory.

Then let it graze in the pastures of your mind.

But remember, thoughts are wild things,

And when they are fat and sleak,

You must let them go,

To graze in other

Minds.
