when i heard this
"love doesn't last, only diamonds do"
it blew my mind
how superficial can a person be
how could you say that to me
leaving are love left behind
the way you said it
the look in your eyes
bitterly unkind
left me speechless
if this is you know
what else will i find
you could have been joking
but i know sutle hints
your walking a thin line
between me loving you
or leaving you
but your worth more to me
than gold or rhine
so you want a ring on your finger
well so do I
but until you show me different
all you'll get is this sign
with a picture of a ring on it
so if you decide to leave
you won't get what's mine
so love doesn't last forever
but diamonds do
this might be lust
because i think i hate you
words are vessels
and yours just sank
better abandoned ship
or walk my plank
i can't believe you
uttered those words
so cruel, so conniving
undoubtedly absurd
well i got you a ring
with your same qualities
its cheap and fake
just like you
wow great poem...kinda harsh but sometimes you have to say those things to get the point across...for some people lost lasts forever and for some people it doesn't....if this is about an experience you wen through then i hope everything turns out ok...good luck!!
i love the last paragraph...
"Cheap and fake just like you" Now, now that was unkind. Frankly blunt. Would that saying, change her mind. Sure that was a challenge set by her. Fair enough. Think over. Diamonds are a girl's best friend. Your shock very well displayed in the poem. Perhaps I've added a bit to your pain. Never mind. Just brush it off as dust.
