"where im from"

where i'm from

we got green hills

and rainbows

lucky charms

little leprechauns

and potatoes



my family never had slaves

or even servants.

we never were considered masters

just subservant

we couldn't even find jobs

to feed are people

we were lower than dirt

labeled feeble

and weak, useless and meek

we came to america by the millions

like water from a leak

we were shunned and spit on

now years later were put in the same boat

as the other whites

who put the chains on



i'm just talking about my family

the mccarty clan

poor Irish trash

living in a stereotypical world

were colors clash

people judge

and presumptions lash

were hate resides

and snaps in a flash

were people are bought

and lives ended for cash



i'm tired of being

considered the one who started it

when my family came over for food

and was never apart of it
