Reflections (a sonnet)

Amber is the heart; Crystal chambers stained

in gilded traces.... treasures so displayed.

Retained, forever moments, window paned...

preserved, embedded memories arrayed.

Mirrors of the moon, ebon looking glass;

revealed... the orb of glowing inner light.

Despite the pools of shadow that may pass...

within the eyes lie truth as bright as night.

Soft suede, the evergreen of land and sea,

a-swirl... with passing time's prismatic sands,

as azure skies embrace serenity...

profound as healing touch of loving hands.

In gold leaf frame, nostalgic hues extol...

reflections of the world to feed the soul.

This is one of the most evocative poems I have read in a long, long time! Excellent work!
